Flight Center takes workplace experiences to new heights with new Digital Signage install
International travel company Flight Centre introduced a cloud-based digital signage solution in its London headquarters, using a large 86-inch screen to deliver eye-catching, near-real-time updates that boost community spirit and bring company strategies directly to its 249 staff members.
This whole project has been about and for our people, giving us a way to keep them in the loop, acknowledge their contributions and support events.
From outdated communications to a more engaging approach
The challenge
In the company’s previous headquarters, content could only be manually loaded and updated via a plugged-in USB. For Read’s streamlined team, this proved time-consuming, and the situation was made all the more frustrating by the fact that the static PowerPoint content did little to engage staff.
This limitation not only reduced engagement but also slowed down internal communication and operational responsiveness.
The challenge was to quickly implement a more automated digital signage solution capable of delivering impactful and relevant content.
Smarter content management with cloud-based signage
As a cloud-based system with advanced scheduling capabilities, the new solution made it possible to update, manage and schedule content remotely, and even edit content in real time once it had gone live.
This significantly reduced the level of manual content maintenance and management that had previously slowed down the Flight Centre team.

The new setup introduced custom, data-driven content powered by Screenfeed. HTML content apps display TfL transportation updates and employee anniversary dates, updating automatically via integrated data sources.
This enables near-real-time travel updates on screen, including tube line status and train departures, helping staff stay informed throughout the day.

Flight Centre uses digital signage to deliver a wide range of content that supports both employee engagement and day-to-day operations, including:
- Live information updates such as transport and travel news
- Employee recognition, including monthly work anniversaries
- Company communications and strategic messaging
- Internal initiatives, such as wellbeing campaigns like “Fruit Bowl Mondays”
- Event promotion, including live countdowns to company events
- Social content, such as birthday shout-outs
- Operational alerts, helping teams react quickly to travel disruptions impacting customers
- Supplier and partner content, displayed during office visits

Flight Centre leveraged custom content services to bring its vision for the new office to life. After sharing its creative direction, content experts handled the app setup and design, enabling the internal team to get started quickly.
Instead of spending time creating content manually, the team could simply schedule ready-to-use app feeds as full-screen or split-screen displays.

Celebrating anniversaries
If employees are celebrating their Flight Centre hire anniversary in the current month, they are recognised on screen via a dedicated app. The app updates monthly to show extra appreciation to those working at the headquarters.
“It’s incredibly popular, and keeps morale sky-high,” says Read. “People love seeing their names up for these length-of-service celebrations.”
Supporting wellbeing and internal initiatives
Other communications featured on screen include health initiatives such as “Fruit Bowl Mondays”, in which free fruit is offered in the office.
Campaigns can be scheduled with precise start and end times, ensuring messages are always timely and relevant.
Building excitement around staff events
Driving participation
The screens have also helped drive interest for staff events. The HQ office screen has been used to advertise — and feature a live countdown to — the Flight Centre Summer Party.
The success of the solution has inspired additional ideas from employees, including Birthday shout-outs.
From manual updates to real-time productivity
The solution has done more than foster a positive and social company culture — it has been integral to improving productivity.
Previously, updating content was a manual and time-consuming process, limiting how quickly information could be shared across the organisation.
Now, Flight Centre can warn staff of travel updates that might impact customer holidays as and when they happen. In addition, it is easy to share company messaging instantly, as well as feature content reels for suppliers when they visit the office.
This shift from static, manual updates to real-time communication has saved significant time and removed the need to present supplier-specific content in person, enabling teams to focus on higher-value tasks.
A strong foundation for future growth
The success of the project has motivated the company to consider expanding its digital signage network further. International colleagues visiting the London headquarters have already expressed interest in rolling out a similar solution in their own offices.
